House Republican Organization
In the fall of 2002, the House Republican Caucus made a decision that there needed to be a change in the way we functioned as a caucus. Upon the election of a new Leader of the Republican Caucus, we have made many much needed reforms and changes. Our top priority was to incude more members and therefore, more ideas, in the decisions and policy making of the legislature. Further efforts included decentralizing the power of the leaders. So far, we're happy to say, that it has worked well. We've been able to and will continue to strive to come up with new and innovative solutions to old challenges.

House Republican Leader
Tom Cross was elected House Republican Leader on January 8th, 2002. He was elected by his peers in the House Republican Caucus.

The House Republican Leader is the Leader for all the Republicans in the Statehouse. When the Republicans return to the Majority in the House, Leader Cross will switch titles to Speaker of the House.

Donations given to Leader Cross go to elect Republicans from across the state to the House.

Voters push change at White House, but not statehouse
SPRINGFIELD - Suburban voters turned out in droves to back Barack Obama's message of "change" last week, but on the state front, they sent back to Springfield nearly all the same people who've produced the gridlock that was said to be frustrating the electorate.
